I’m sure it’s great but the Michael Bennet/Bob Avian Choreo is the ethos of that show. It’ll be like casting an All White Hamilton or using a puppet for Sandy in Annie. I’m partial to a good revival, but every show has that one thing about it that you just don’t touch. In ACL, it’s 100 percent the choreo. The choreo is the show. You damn near could change the songs before the choreo and get less resistance lol or maybe this is just me coping with the fact that I’m going through an ACL obsession about 50 years too late all bcuz I was born a few decades too late to have experienced it during its original run 😭😭😭

I really can't see him as Snape. Maybe it's just the stage acting thing, but I'm worried he might lay it on a bit too thick during the emotional scenes later in the story.

Thankyou the two of you for a very differing and personal insight into his paintings. If you ever do another look into Lowry paintings "The Fever Van" has always intrigued me because I have never heard of a fever van though I was brought up in Liverpool in the 1940s having the same industrial scenery you could say being just next door to Manchester.

You need some high light lighting there- pretty washed out displays! Pity, great artist.

Not popular by me I'm afraid. Such depressing colours (only rivalled by Paul Klee). Awful compositions too. The Golden Section was lost on the guy. We don't need to be reminded of the depressing environment of northern England in the early 20th Century.

Having first seen Timothy Spall act in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Who would have thought that he would become one of our greatest actors. I love to watch him in all he does. 👏🏻👏🏻

Great video, Just watched an A I on TikTok of his painting brought to life,

That Welsh scene is the mining town of Bargoed . I lived there for three years in the late 60s. That scene was obviously painted from a mountainside frequented by the local scrambling club. And so I recognised the scene when a slideshow of Lowry's work was shown at the local Worker's Education Association in the town library. My mother used to do a bit of painting herself, although she tended to do posters for local events, as she had been a aircraft factory draftsperson in WW2. I was used to being taken to art exhibitions, but from that slideshow I developed an immediate interest in Lowry, that persists to this day. And now I know a lot more about his life, there are huge parallels with my own. Must visit the Lowry next time I am in the UK.

A truly fantastically great show! I am desperate to see it again! Just a nice little reminder to the cast and crew, Every single night you make hundreds (possibly thousands at other venues) of peoples live so much better, possibly immersing them in a love of theatre, or a passion of fantastically great women, but no matter what, you all change the world, just by living in it.

Can we really do A Chorus Line w/O the original Bennett's direction and choreography. Based on this trailer, looks like YES!
